Anyone treated w/ Ominicef and Biaxin

My LLMD is changing my antibiotic treatment to Omnicef and Biaxin for 3 more months. Mainly because he believes Flagyl was responsible for my hormone imbalance and I wasn't able to keep it down since I got the flu. Has anyone been treated with this combination? It's the first time I have hear about it, but I have taken these before for other infections and did just fine. I am hopeful since my CD57 has gone up from 23 to 56. However, my IgM results show more Lyme.

Hi,
Iwas on that med combo for about three months. It did great for me especially when I was really sick the first three months of treatment.

The only side effect was a metalic taste in my mouth from the biaxin.

Good luck.

Yes, I was on that combination and so was someone else I know.

I am very sensitive to meds, and something about this combo didn't sit well with me, but my friend was just fine and had no problems.

I had only one side effect, which was that I started to retain water and got 'sloshy' ankles and felt slightly stupid due to fluid build up in my brain.  It was very slow and so I didn't realize it was happening, but when I saw my LLMD, he took me off the meds.

Wish I understood why I reacted that way, but he never said.  Like I said, tho, I am very sensitive to meds and odd things happen to me that don't happen to other people.

So in your situation, I'd give it a try but call the dr with any problems that pop up.

Hang in there!!
