Also read somewhere that mycoplasma could be the culprit in some autoimmune disorders. It seems we just don't know that much about intracellular infections.

Did you ever take levaquin? I got tendinitis all over my body from that medicine which feels like RA. Painful.
So did mine-the RA labs--normal RF, inflammation markers, and anti-CCP antibody.
Yet my fingers behaves like RA, with morning stiffness and trigger fingers, and with the pain like you describes.
For me, plaquenil pretty much holds it at bay. Rocephin IV make it feel even more better.
Some place I read mycoplamsa can be behind RA mainfestations, not just bartonella.
