I'm sorry to hear your symptoms came back. I hope the blood tests weren't too bad and your LLMD will find the appropriate treatment.
Sorry to hear that, mojo. :( Sending you all good thoughts:

Unfortunately, I had a relapse after the holidays. I have heard of it happening before but was really upset that it happened to me.
I thought I was almost in remission but overdoing it threw me over the edge. Many old symptoms including tinutitis came back. I go to my LLMD next week due to abnormal blood tests. Nervous about what they are.
Like mojogal, I was on extended antibiotics (close to a year) and had no problems from them. Overuse of antibiotics is surely to be avoided, but when there is an illness that requires such a dosing approach, then to my understanding and imo, the risks of not treating fully are far greater than whatever risks there are from the antibiotics for that period of time. What the medical profession is trying to avoid is using abx when they are *not* called for. With Lyme and its co-infections however, extended treatment is appropriate and often necessary.
Thank you! I tested positive for Lyme and was clinically diagnosed with bartonella last weekend (I had the rashes). My LLMD started me on omnicef and rifampin. Unfortunalty I'm allergic to alot of antibiotics. It's good to hear that your tinnitus went away. I'm just scared of the antibiotics making it worse. 2 years is a long time! Are most of your symptoms resolved?
I used Doxycycline for Lyme. What you heard was probably that it can make you herx. Google herxheimer reaction for a good explanation but basically it's feeling worse before you feel better. I also pulsed Flagyl which is a cyst Buster. Lyme goes into a cyst formation.
Swollen glands was a huge problem for me with Bartonella. For Barts I used Rifampin. I did ABX for two years and I am now on an herbal protocol.
A common rash with Barts is when it looks like stretch marks.
Thanks mojogal. What antibiotics did you use to treat lyme? I heard doxycycline can make it worse. My LLMD suspects bartonella since I have the swollen glands, rashes, shin pain, etc.
I had tinutitis before I knew I had Lyme and co's. Then when I started going to an LLMD, she said that it was from BARTONELLA. It just kind of went away when I started rifampin.
