Brethor: For canadians there is no charge for Elisa testing. If your Elisa comes back positive or even indeterminate, they will then send it to public health to confirm with a westernblot (no charge). I would ask your doctor if he is sending your tests to IgenEx. IF NOT. it sounds like the candian health care system is changing things. DO NOT! i REPEAT do not pay for an elisa. It is not worth it. Tell him/her if you are going to pay, that you want your blood work to go to IgenX!
Testing is so random. I was tested by igenex also and what I know now its almost easier to diagnos someone just by symptoms. I've done it with my sister.and mom. I would bypass the testing and treat your symptoms with colloidal silver. The kind I use has done more for me then any doctor or anti-biotic ever could do.
Your doc will probably give you the test orders marked for IGeneX to test only things they specialize in. For other tests, the non-specialty labs (in the US, that can mean LabCorp or Quest or others) are fine.
yup, IgeneX is out of pocket, although you might be able to submit the bill to your insurance complany. I am awaiting my second round of test results. My western blot was $200, but they might charge more if you live outside the US, I'm not sure. The lab is located in California. They have a website and you can google IgeneX to find it. Hope that helps! :)
