Battling Heavy Eye Syndrome.. Better known as Fatigue

Thought I would share with all fellow lymies who are suffering from fatigue a little regime that has really helped me get through the long days of work.
I started taking and doing a few things that have really helped me overcome and cope with my worst enemy: FATIGUE with a capital F.

My MD recommended a few things to me and since taking them I’ve been doing pretty well (not tooting my own horn or anything, but pretty happy with the results)
He recommended Melatonin. I purchased one that is a pharmacy brand that dissolves under your tongue. I realized that I was taking them too late (right before bedtime) and had even a worse time getting up in the morning. It would take me a good 3 hours after to get out of the worst haze in the world. I was extremely deterred by this. But I thought I would give it a second chance but earlier in the night. I started with 1 ½ - 2 hours before bed. They actually work!!! They help me get a good night’s rest (well, the best I’ve had in years) . I took the maximum dosage recommended.

My 2nd recommendation was a product by Naka called Vital Greens (liquid form) OMG!!! This stuff packs a powerful punch. Follow directions as suggested (morning). You can find this at any natural food store, and may be even lucky to find this product at a pharmacy. Canadians are extremely PRO Naturopaths so this is not hard to find here.

My 3rd: Popping a super complex b vitamin @ noon. This assists in battling the 2-3 o’clock brick wall that I fight with on a regular daily basis.

My 4rd: A multi-IMMUNE vitamin. Amazingggggg. This was replaced by my regular multi-vitamin

My 5th: EAT CLEAN!!!! Ms. Tosca Reno is a genius with her eating clean books. I suggest you look into it. Probably the hardest thing to do out of all of these. Changing your eating habits and actually sticking to a diet regimen is so hard when you have those days of cravings and emotional/stressful times.

My 6th and final recommendation: DRUM ROLL PLEASE: EXERCISE!!!! Yes, the toxin-releasing, sweat making machine. Easy, but at a good pace… and increasing intensity each week – 2 weeks.

I swear by this people, you’re only as strong as your will power…. I know its hard, but you need to kickstart your “heart” and do it. I swear. IF I CAN DO IT! ANYONE CAN and as much as my fatigue may not be as intense as some, it is still chronic.

I love you all, and I hope this will help. Every lymie knows that most days, it seems like we are in our own separate world. We must stand by one another! Give a shoulder to cry on and a body to lean on.
God bless the lymies!

Also, if you can afford it buy a 3 person unit. When you get in it. You are going to want to lye down because you will get tired. The 1-2 person are not big enough.

I would recommend a "Royal" sauna. They use ceramic heating elements which is very important and thay are resonablly priced. Do not get anything with carbon elements.

I would not recommend doing any kind of aerobic/or anaerobic work out as this will cause the bacteria to becaome more active. If your heart is pumping they will get aggressive and attack it. I know 2 people with lyme who died of a heart attach while running. Just my 2 cents. Sweating is very important to get relief but thats where the sauna comes in.

They need spell check on Medhelp!!!!!!

Thanks for the info Dont Tick me Off!!!

I printed out your stuff and am going to look into it.  I started excersing about a month ago and while it's difficult somedays, I feel so much better doing it.  I was excersing in the morning but starting today, am going to try excercising in the afternoon (weights from 3 to 330 pm and then cardio from 3:30 to 4 pm).  I hope this will also help with my sleep.

I've been having sleep issues for years and my doctors gave me Xanax years ago.  I take a very small amount (.5 mg) but I just want off of it.  It's highly addictive though.  So, I talked to my doctor the other day and he gave me Ambien and told me to cut my Xanax and only take half dose four hours before the Ambien and then eventually we will eliminate the Xanax.  I did this for the first time last night and I'm telling you, I felt like CRAP this morning!!!  It's 1030 here and I still feel like I have a hangover.

Anyway, the drama in my life!  It just never ends!

Also, I'm ordering a far infrared sauna today.  I've been researching them and am ready to order one.  Can't wait!

Another great way to get the toxins out of your body from the lyme bacteria mutiplying is to use a far-infrared sauna. I would stay in it from 30-50 min. The big thing is to sweat. That will get the toxins out and you will feel great temporarily. May sure you drink plenty of water after. You want to drink a few glasses after but don't do it an hour before as this will cool down your core temp. and it will take longer to sweat.
