Delayed research?

I'm posting this ONLY as an example of what is  happening now and in the narrow constricts of researching about Lyme.

If this devolves into a discussion about politics, I'll ask the moderators to delete this thread. Or they may do it on their own, with my blessing.

I was just looking up some information for a person and this came up at the top of PubMed.

"Due to the lapse in government funding, the information on this web site may not be up to date, transactions submitted via the web site may not be processed, and the agency may not be able to respond to inquiries until appropriations are enacted.

Updates regarding government operating status and resumption of normal operations can be found at http://www.usa.gov."

To my knowledge, work done under already funded federal awards can continue.  At this time, upcoming deadlines for federal grant programs should be treated as unchanged, though some of the electronic systems through which submissions are made are shut down.
