It also helps when you can move to FL, like I did. There could be worse places.
Thanks Rico. A friend of mine has had it over 12 years but at least now she can work. I would be happy to get to that point.
Given the horrors you have been through, I would guess you could be looking at longer than 2 years. My doc has described treating some with long term illnesses and coinfections up to 4 years. There is one woman in my area who had Lyme for about 50 years (since the age of 4 after a summer in the Connecticut countryside), and she is going on multiple years of treatment.
The good news is that you'll be feeling a lot better before treatment is done! :)
I am very glad you made the decision to move to find a good doc.
Oh, I hope you are ok. This is so frustrating. I was told to expect at least two years and now that I have babs to, I think longer. Let me know how it comes out.
I had to stop abx because my kidneys were overloaded. I am convinced my left kidney and/or adrenal gland were/are infected. I had some pain in that area, but it went away. I felt it a couple times again right after I stopped abx. I had asked to be aggressive in my treatment, but it looks like my kidneys can't keep up. I suspect I will go back on a reduced regimen. I assume that means this process will go on even longer than originally expected.
I retest on Thursday. I should be okay to resume this Friday.
I didn't know it could go there either but apparently it can go anywhere. I am also having those sores in my ear.
Why are you off meds? Just a break or do they say you are cured?
I am sorry about your heart rate and those darn word problem, I hate that, know how you feel.
When they first showed me a picture of my ulcer, I thought it looked like my Bart sores...now I bet it is. I also thought my brain lesions were Lyme but after researching all this I realize they are more than likely Bart lesions.
Hope you feel better!
I did not know Bartonella could do that! I feel lucky that my Bart hasn't been that bad. Even off abx for 6 weeks, I am not convinced any Bart symptoms have returned. I did have a couple spikes inheart rate, including one today up to 119, but I can't tell if that is from anxiey, or just my tachycardia coming back. Lyme causes anxiety, too, so who knows!
I am also noticing in the last couple weeks that I am saying the wrong word again. This symptom was almost completely gone the couple months before I stopped abx, so I am bummed it is back. I am also tripping over my words again. :( I am very eager to get back on abx again!
Yes, it looks like that. You need a Bart's med like levaquin.
My LLMD is also a family doctor so she checked me herself. It burns and the lesion (which I have all over my body) is finally big enough to feel. It burns and is sore and hurts but eventually stops and is more like a red streak on the rest of my body. I am anxious for this to go away.
Can Bart's sore looks like herpes sore?
I had herpes-like sore in my genitial areas, and of course, no susprises, the tests has always turned up negative.
I am still having UTI-like symptoms, and burning in genitial areas, and inside vagina-it stumped my GYN/OB.
It did not go away while on Rocephin IV nor Doxy.
