Thanks Jackie and all who have responded.
I agree that there is a possibility of his session being extra "special" compared to others. Having said this, I emailed him 5 days ago with my thoughts and no response so I not holding out too much for this!
Thanks
... and PS, a long trip for a few days sounds exhausting to me, back in my bad old Lyme days. I had a hard time making it to the market once a week, much less travel.
I'm a bit of a heretic in these matters ... we ALL have family issues in one way or another, and while it adds to the burden of being ill, I would rather the docs focus on getting my body well and then let me worry about the family stuff. Esp. when it's a very costly program like going to Scotland. If therapy is called for, then a qualified local doc may do just fine ... but I'm not medically trained. I just know what a financial burden Lyme is: not just the cost of the docs and the meds, but the lost time from work and productive activity. So I agree with your comment that "it shouldn't matter who I do it through if it's far more practical for me." The counterargument is that this is a 'special' program, and I'm sure it may be in some ways, but do what you think is right for *you*, and that means all aspects including financial.
Thanks for this
My doctors actually calls it Family Constellation which is the same as Group Constellation.
I'm open to differerent ways of treating Lyme, particularly any councilling or therapy that helps.
The cost (particularly travel, accommodation and the time as I have to spend a few days in Scotland) is too much for me.
Depending on if I can find testimonials or real world experiences, I going to suggest perhaps doing this through another practitioner more local to me (there seems to be a few from a quick google search) so I don't have the associated costs of Scotland. My practioner wouldn't gain anything financially if I did this.
If the ART that he does truly suggests that i need this form of therapy, it shouldn't matter who I do it through if its far more practical for me.
If my practitioner resists the idea of doing it somewhere else then this my raise my suspicions ...
I was curious so I went to Klinghardt's web page and searched "Group Constellation Therapy" and only came up with "Family Constellation". Maybe you can try searching his web page and come up with something.
Hello Adey,
I studied Klinghardt's treatment approach in the past and do not recall reading about Group Constellation Therapy and I am not familiar with it. I can understand your hesitancy. If you are doubtful, maybe it would be helpful to call Dr. Klinghardt's office to make sure it's something that is beneficial to use and it's something he recommends to his patients or if it's just something used by your practitioner. I would also ask to see literature on this approach which demonstrates its effectiveness.
I have been in a situation in the past where a practitioner I had at the time recommended I do something as a part of my healing, but it just was way out of budget and not feasible. So, I understand it's a difficult decision, but ultimately it's your decision.
