looking at the blood to see the actual bacteria

i'm wondering if any of you have had a doctor actually look for the bacteria in the blood rather than do the tests that look for antibodies.  from what i understand, the antibodies aren't always "available" to be seen.   we have a clinic in town about 1 1/2 hours away that test the blood itself and looks for the bacteria to diagnose lyme.   it is a chiropractic  and naturopathic office, but i believe that one of the docs is also a microbiologist.  i am looking into getting tested there.  just wondering if anyone has heard of this kind of testing before.

i asked a local doctor about getting tested through igenex--but he said i would have to have a blood test through the hospital first---and if it came back positive, then i could have a test done through igenex.  i didn't want to go that way.

i also wondered how anyone could doubt looking at a picture of bacteria that clearly shows up in blood and then say that it is a false positive.  where is Fry laboratory? i am not familiar with the name.  the clinic i want to go to does the testing right there in their own office.  it is a chiropractic-naturopath office--but one of the docs is also a biochemist----so i figure he knows what he is doing.  besides, i really don't care how they test for it as long as they can make me feel better.   they have had some real success in helping people.  we live in southern idaho and people come from all over the US to be teated by this doctor.

Good to know other docs are using the test. My family doc doubts the validity of the lab also, but I trust my lyme doc. I personally cannot understand the debate because it is an actual photograph of your blood which clearly shows bacteria. Still there are doctors who don't believe it.

I also had a smear done by Fry labs that showed Bart.  I had the test repeated after a year of treatment and while the Bart was still there, the amount was notably less.

I've read that some folks doubt the validity of the lab, but my llmd uses them to guide treatment and I trust him.

There is a test done by Fry Laboratories which looks at the bacteria in the blood. My doctor uses it and it found my Bartonella. I am not sure why other docs don't use it. In my opinion, it would seem like it's way more reliable than other tests, but I am uncertain as to how reliable the test  actually is as far as percentage wise.
