Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I am ever so thankful that I found a good LLMD who is successfully treating me - albeit with many set backs along the way, but progress is being made. Last Thanksgiving, I could barely move, although I had the family for Thanksgiving, it took me 2 days to finish the clean up and the shopping was a nightmare. Could barely walk through the store, let alone have the energy to cook the meal. Somehow I did it. Christmas shopping was almost non-existent with my arthritis preventing me from walking much, or grasping and picking up something heavier than a pound or so. Constant pain, brain fog, exhaustion. My life was pretty much working and holding down the couch.
This year, I was able to walk through Cosco from one end to the other and still go to another large grocery store for some other things. I negotiated traffic without getting lost. When I saw my LLMD last week, he told me 3 - 6 more months and I would be cured. He then put me on A-Cpn and NAC with Vitamin B and cut my antibiotics to 1x a day. He told me that the A-Cpn was strong (1 drop 2x a week) and wow, holy herx batman, I was down for 3 days. But it is supposed to go after the bugs hiding from the antibiotics. Guess I had a bunch of them. I'm due again for another drop tomorrow, but will wait until dinner is over. I look forward to Christmas shopping this year, wrapping presents (little arthritis in hands these days) and not wanting to sleep through the season like I did last year.
For those of you in the middle of this nightmare, know that you too will get better. My holiday wish for everyone on this list is a cure for Lyme disease and not to be laughed out of a doctors office when they find out you've been on antibiotics for a year. Though I don't post much, I read all your questions and responses. Thank you for being here.
