IgM + IgG -

Is it at all possible to tell by looking at the western blot results how long one has been infected??  I don't think it is, but I just thought that I'd ask.....

If I was highly CDC + on the IgM but almost completely negative on the IgG (even by IGenex standards), does this have any meaning??  Like a new or quite possibly even a reinfection?  Or is this just completely meaningless?

I'd appreciate any thoughts!

Hey,

Yeah I don't understand any of it either. I am IgeneX positive both IgM and IgG.

My husband, who showed symptoms before I ever did, only came back IgM positive. I don't get it.

Thanks!

"a state of flux"??  Do you mind specifying the meaning of this?

IgM and IgG are not reliable indicators. As ILADS states: "Not all patients have antibodies at all times when tested. "

There are many reasons why IgM and IgG are in a state of flux. I'm sure that information can be found somewhere else besides my computer. (grin) I may get around to looking for it sometime.
