Awful knees

I've suddenly got terrible knees! I know this is a classic Lyme symptom (and bart maybe even more so)., but I've never actually had bad kneees like this before. Usually when I stand up from sitting, EVERY time I get out of the car etc, they feel as if they are suddenly going to give out beneath me.

Well the question is, since I've had lyme and bart 28 years and this has suddenly cropped up now, I am wondering if it is actually caused by my low thyroid situation instead? Since that's a much newer thing. In which case, upping my thyroxine meds a little bit might possibly make it go away.

Since I started the thyroxine 6-7 weeks ago, it has continued getting worse, though.

Any thoughts?

I agree, I don't think the thyroxine and the knees have an affect on each other but I have low thyroid and Bart's and the knee problems are definitely a symptom of Bart's. Your LLMD can help guide you. Good luck!

I don't know that taking thryoid supplements would make your knees worse, as a direct effect.  There could be some indirect effect of the meds that is showing itself mainly in weak knees, but your doc would need to figure that out.

This time of year, it seems the Lyme bugs come awake and can make joints achy and miserable in that super-special way that only Lyme can.

But ask your doc .... I wouldn't change the thyroxine dose without the doc's okay.  Thyroid is a really touchy thing.
