So I'm at A famous eye care center in philadelphia with one of the worlds most renowned neuroopthalmologists and he reads that I'm being treated for Lyme and all the meds I'm taking. He asks me about it and I start explaining while steeling myself for the lecture that I'm sure is next.

Yet again-none came!!!  He said the treatment was fairly benign and Lyme could be really hard to diagnose. He said the treatment may actually make me feel better and if not then I could scratch it off the list but he thought , and I direct quote here, "you are doing the right thing."

My pupils may or may not be related to the Lyme issue though it wouldn't help. But the dizzy and off balance etc he said could be explained by Lyme or not and to try the treatment and see what happens!

Score FIVE for Lyme sensitive specialists on the east coast!!!  This doctor is no joke!

I don't think that Lyme could cause that. why do you think you had Lyme and when exactly do you think you were infected? were you bit by a tick?

Your problem with the optical nerves could be due to a direct infection but maybe also from a auto-immune reaction that affected the nerves.

If you haven't try the Romberg's test. ask someone in your family to test you with it, it's very simple it will take a minute. often it's linked with problems in the optical nerves.

So very glad for you to have found a doc who is open and frank about things.  As it should be, eh.

Take care -- happy for you here!

Whoops iPhone early send. I was saying it was when my Lyme/babs (possibly) started kicking in. Anyway the moral of the story=doc not convinced its Lyme but also not convinced its not.  Adie's is not indicative of Lyme but Lyme could cause Adie's either way the pupil thing is benign so yeah

turns out I have Adie's pupil bilaterally. Means my pupils dilate differently but it's benign. It's usually brought on by a viral or bacterial infection that damages some nerves that control the pupillary response. It's a one in a few hundred thousand diagnosis. Guess what... Pupil issues started when all my Lyme/babs

sounds like he thinks you don't have Lyme but he can't be 100% sure.

what type of problem do you have with your vision?

Yayyy!  I am so glad to hear that.  I get so discouraged when I read about the Lyme deniers, and so encouraged when I hear more and more doctors are starting to "get it" with Lyme!
