To everyone:
In many states in the U.S., the state and local medical boards disagree with the way Lyme is treated by Lyme specialists and other docs who understand Lyme. The Centers for Disease Control in Washington DC (your Federal tax dollar at work!) have a firm position that Lyme (and even its co-infections, apparently) is rare, hard to get, and easy to cure with a couple weeks of doxycycline antibiotics. Any remaining symptoms are attributed to your overactive immune system causing problems, and the CDC clings to this idea regardless of findings made frequently regarding Lyme and the misery that it is.
(Side note: this is exactly why I do NOT want the government running the health care system in the U.S. Mother Nature is far trickier than the US Govt, and will doubtless cause us further pain and misery and lost months and even years through ineffectively diagnosed and treated Lyme disease.)
If we post MD's names here, it gives ammunition to the medical boards in various states to shut the Lyme docs down for 'over-treating.'
PLEASE do not name doc's names in these posts.
