The main group of MDs who understand Lyme and treat it aggressively is ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society), with a website at ILADS [dot] org.
I understand they have a referral function where you can ask them to send you the names of Lyme specialists near you. You will see the term 'LLMD', which is how we patients identify MDs who understand Lyme better than other MDs. I just did a google search for
trenton nj llmd
and there were quite a few leads on other websites, in groups, etc. Anyone can call themselves an LLMD, because it is not a professional qualification, so you must be skeptical and try to figure out from other people's comments how open minded and experienced the doctor is.
A referral from the ILADS website is probably a good indicator, but I have not used it.
Thank you for your respond. I feel horrible for the past seven years. Three years ago I saw lime disease specialist, I was on doxycycline for a month and had spinal tap. Meanwhile, they found pituitary tumor and said the symptoms I have are not from the tumor. So now I have to fine better lime disease specialist. Thanks a lot!!
From what I have read, those three positive IgG readings mean:
The infection is not very recent, bec. IgG indicates an infection that has been around for at least a while. This doesn't change treatment, to my knowledge, but I'm NOT medically trained.
As to the three numbered bands:
23: this would not be positive for anything but Lyme. It is therefore a strong indicator that you have Lyme
41: this indicates an infection by any spiral-shaped bacterium, of which Lyme is one. So this could be Lyme or not.
58: this one is unclear in its meaning, but it may indicate Lyme.
If you are not seeing a Lyme specialist, that is what I would do next.
Best wishes -- let us know how you do, okay?
