Found attached tick and now having symptoms and wondering if related?

Help, please. I found a tick on left buttock in shower this afternoon. Initially, I thought I was feeling a weird scab of some sort. Then - I remembered a week or so ago thinking the same thing along my hairline on my scalp and pulled off two attached ticks. I had an almost immediate sore throat/lymph soreness, lasting about 36 hours after pulling them off. Naturally, I thought the "scab" on my buttock was a tick. Sure enough, it was! I cleaned the area, flushed tick down toilet. Husband and I went to movie. Upon getting up from movie, my left knee went out, just like that. Then, I had to walk on ball of my foot without bearing full weight; felt hyperextended, like something was going to tear if I put full weight on it. Seemed to calm down once home. Soon after, I was on livingroom floor with new puppy. Suddenly, left buttock (exact site where I removed the tick) felt bruised - felt much like muscle tissue soreness after having an injection or something. My whole left leg was stiff; I could barely get up from floor to nearby chair. I managed but slowly. Still cannot straighten out my leg or bear full weight. Now toes tingling and tingling sensation all up and down left leg. Can a tick bite have caused these symptoms? So suddenly? Can I wait until morning to be seen by a doctor?

Joyanj, I see it's been a couple weeks and I hope you've found a doctor who takes this seriously and treats you so these problems will be short-lived and not long-term.  Oftentimes tick bites transmit more than Lyme, so symptoms could be from Lyme or something else.  And it sounds like you had at least 3 opportunities for ticks to share microbes with you.

Did you get any tests?  Any rashes?  Any diagnoses?

I went from being slightly stiff from exercise to being barely able to stand up or hobble from inflammation and intense pain - in a matter of 90 minutes.  Turns out I had caught human parvovirus, and it was either a co-infection with Lyme, or I already had the Lyme and the parvo gave the Lyme spirochete an opening to try to take over the world.  I will never know, although thinking back I had signs of Lyme for many years previous, but not all at once and not debilitating like the last 6 years.  Anyway, Lyme tends to be asymmetric (one side at a time) and parvovirus tends to be symmetric (same joints on both sides).

Post again how you're doing - I hope you were able to get treatment and you are feeling better.
