Today was bad - tinnitus, motion sick feeling, nausea, head pressure. I had this before abx, I think? Rule out herx?

Ugh, as the day went on my tinnitus increased and so did my pressure feeling in my head and nausea, as though I was motion sick.  I found myself barely able to tolerate even driving home.  I was so miserable.  Again, like in the past, it got worse when I ate.

I don't know if all of this is herxing, but it seems to be worse than before.  It seems like I get rid of one symtpom somewhat and another one takes the forefront.  So frustrating!

I had some wierd ear stuff whilst taking Doxy. it wasn't tinnitus but was like pain with a constant draining sensation - it went away very soon after stopping Doxy. - I couldn't tolerate that abx. - it made me feel soo horrible - I know that it might have done good in the long run but I decided to change to Amoxicillin.  I have never had any sinus type probs. before or since that 'Doxy.' episode.

Thanks wonko, I can always count on a post from you:)  Yep, I am on new meds and not feeling well at all!  I just worry about ototoxicity.  Many antibiotics are ototoxic and I don't want to lose any, and I mean any hearing due to meds.  That only equals tinnitus for the rest of your life, which I would hate.  My tinnitus is worse when I'm sick, it definitely increases with stress but is a new problem since I started taking doxycylcline.  Who knows, like you said, what really caused it to start.

A Herx can involve new symptoms or a worsening of old ones.  I can fully relate the the "whack a mole" aspect of treatment, in which knocking one symptom down just causes another to pop up in a random place.

I recall from other posts that you're starting some new meds so it seems reasonable to me that the combination is knocking you around some.  I also have tinnitus, only when I'm prone for some reason and it's not too bad.  I've read that zith can cause tinnitus, but mine predates that medication.

It's always hard to say what is a primary symptom versus a Herx versus a flare or side effects.  You can't tell day to day, and need to wait for the bigger picture to emege.  I also know that it doesn't help much to hear that on bad days.  I hope you feel better soon.
