Took Cat's Claw Yesterday. Don't feel good today.

I know, I know...I should probably have checked with my LLMD before doing this, but I bought some liquid Cat's Claw at Whole Foods yesterday.  Took 30 drops twice yesterday.  Today, I am truly not feeling well.  I have very bad brain fog, feel dizzy and just generally not well.

I wonder if this could be from the Cat's Claw?  If it is, is this a good sign that I do have Lyme?  I know my test were postive for Lyme plus co-infection of Enchrilosis but I still have that irritating little guy on my shoulder telling me that I might have MS....ugh!!!

Anyway, I also wanted feedback on something else.  I'm on Amoxicillian and Biaxin twice per day (500 mg) each dose.  I read that so many people are on Doxy.  Unfortunately, I am allergic to Sulfa which I believe is why my doctor did not prescribe that to me.  Are these other meds going to get rid of my Lyme.

Also, had another episode yesterday morning (before I took the Cat's Claw) of sudden heat and sweating and shaking of my hands and feeling like I needed food right that minute.  Does this happen to anyone as a sign of Lyme?

I have chronic lymes,Hashimoto's,fibromyalgia and etc....

My LLMD gave me cat's claw and I'm doing okay on it. I take it in pill form. The doc said it boosts the immune system, if I'm remembering that well.

In all this time I have never heard of Herx. What is that? What is a film buster?
If you could explain this again I would greatly appreciate it.
As far as the bacteria dying off, I don't feel well every day. There are days that I feel better and days that I feel like !%$!  But a day doesn't go by that I don't feel well. Does this mean that bacteria is dying every day for me?

FYI-  I had my first bout with lymes 24yrs ago and again a couple years later. Four years ago it activated again. My LLMD says I will never get rid of the lymes but trying to put it in remission.

Carrie, just look at the good days as getting better. And the bad days are the ones when the bacteria is dying off.  Sooner or later you will have more good days than bad ones.  Keep us posted!

Take care, hope you feel better, and since you'll be with your sweetie tonight on Valentine's, isn't that what really counts?  You can go out and party when you're feeling better.

I understand about wanting to get the show on the road FAST with getting well.  It's a longer journey than any of us would like, but well worth doing.

Carrie, it's just a herk effect.  it happened to me as well initially.  Cat's claw is natural bio film buster.  Remember that die off sends all the bad crap back into your blood stream as jackie stated.  30 drops a night before bed time is best.  I will post a linkt about banderol and cats claw.  By the way it needs to be TAO FREE CATS CLAW.  There is a difference between cats claw and TAO FREE CATS CLAW.  Read this article.

Thanks.  I actually do really like and trust my LLMD.  I'm just got that type of personality that "wanted it fixed yesterday", but that's not going to happen with Lyme I guess.  

It's just that I've spent the last year of my life convinced that I had MS, and now that I know it's something else, I keep getting these little doubts.  I appreciate your comments though...no more Cat's Claw until I see my doc.

Bob:  I was assuming that the doxy has sulfa in it.  I thought I saw it on the internet.  I'll talk to my doctor about it when I see him.

Thanks again....I'm going home early from work...just not feeling good AT ALL today.  Had to cancel my Valentine's dinner with my hubby for tonight....boo hoo!

Tomorrow is a new day though!

Cat's Claw can cause a Herx, and on top of the antibiotics, you may be overloading your system.  I would stop the Cat's Claw and ask your LLMD at the next appointment if you can or should take it.  

My best blunt advice:  stop second-guessing your LLMD.  If you don't trust him, go somewhere else, but stop messing with the recommended treatment program.  Give it a chance to work.  It won't work immediately, but that's just the way it is.

I find that I am very very sensitive to all meds and supplements, so a 'regular' dose of 60 drops as you indicate would knock me over.

Not all LLMDs use doxy, and I think it there are LLMDs who think it is not as useful in some patients (depending on coinfections) and has more side effects than some other abx.  I am not recalling hearing of anyone taking sulfa drugs for Lyme.

Feeling creepy as you did even pre-Cat's Claw can also be part of a Herx:  the bacteria hijack the endocrine system, which affects virtually all bodily systems.  It will lessen and then fade away after the infections are brought under control.
