Update on Appt with LLMD

Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days.  My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago.  He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme.

After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme.  My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!  That is the highest it's been in a long time so that is good news!

The last few days, I seem to be feeling a bit better.  Still having joint pain in wrists, hands and strangely, my elbows hurt!  (feet/ankles too).  I'm hoping that once I start on the new meds, that some of this will clear up.

Anyhow, that is it for now!!!

Carrie - Glad you're making progress! That's great news. I developed new symptoms after I started treatment, which just frustrated me to no end. It annoyed me that with so many abx in my body, the little buggers could relocate to a new place and cause new problems.

Carrie & Mojogal - Are your docs prescribing plaquenil along with the Biaxin?  My doc told me that plaquenil makes the body more alkaline, making the Biaxin up to 40% more effective at penetrating cell walls (it is an intracellular abx).  The plaquenil enables a lower dose of Biaxin.

Great news! I just started Biaxin yesterday. Hope we both have good luck on it.
