leilajax - I will PM you again. I am sure it is hard to see PM's on your iphone so just a heads-up that I will send you a PM. ;-) HUGS!
I believe in acupuncture too. I was going several times a week in Va and it really helped. I wish insurance covered it.
I gave acupuncture a shot (1 treatment), but I have an issue with following through. I need to give it another few tries I guess. BTW, QP, thank you for your messages. I had not seen the note that you sent me. I mainly access medhelp through my iPhone and have issues accessing things like I could on my laptop. Could you message me the info again?
Also, LLMD is having issues with my insurance an IV abx! So frustrated! I need to start treatment, like LAST YEAR, but insurance dictates my health. LLMD applies for ALL 3 months treatment, knowing that they'll deny it and then requests 1 month bc they are more likely to approve if done in this order.
I'm sorry you're not getting any relief. Pain/inflammation is one of the 'mystery' symptoms, unless of course you break a leg. :(
All NSAIDs have some dangers associated with them, even OTC. But you knew that already. :)
Two sites ( but NOT the only two):
http://www.consumerreports.org/health/resources/pdf/best-buy-drugs/Nsaids2.pdf
http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/medicine/painkiller-comparison.htm
I didn't read all of the Consumer Reports site.
I did read all of the second site----- and especially want to direct people to the very lengthy Disclaimer he posted at the end.
He's obviously biased but is he wrong? I happen to (mostly) agree with his opinion of acetaminophen (Tylenol) but not as vehemently. :)
Forgot....if you are interested in information on herbal cures for inflammation send me a PM.
I am so sorry for your pain.
I know OTC there is Alleve or Advil. Celebrex by script. Your doc has more knowledge but if you can't wait I would take the Advil.
I had a script for Advil for 800 MG. I had to stop taking it because I got an ulcer and too much of that can cause ulcers. That was after years of taking it though.
Let us know how you are doing. Feel better.
