Thank you so much. Do you know if this clinic has a waiting list like the other one? If I move, it will be for 6 months only. That is how long the other clinic's waiting list is.
hi, there is a very good clinic in southern germany about 3 hr's from augsburg called privateklinik run by dr ursula jacob i went from australia to try and find out what was wrong with me, she does a genetic screen and thats when after 15yrs i found out i had lyme disease and co infections she is a great doctor, and they have really nice accommodation at the clinic next to the black forrest near dornstetten. she does a lot of infusion's detoxing and also gets a individual vaccine made up before you depart, there is alway's people there from all over the world she also specialises in viruses and cancer, she is worth seeing even if it is just for genetic screen and testing.
Rico, Mike is not military so I don't think it is tricare. I will have to ask him what it is. I am not thrilled to move to Germany but we shall see.
From what Youvegot.. has said in the past, it's the only really good clinic in Europe. If you get serious about the move, you'll want to contact them to see if they'll take you as a transfer.
Be sure to check on what your insurance will cover and where. You may find it easier to continue with the doc you have, if she will do phone appointments and ship you meds. My doc does phone appointments, but requires in-person visits every few months.
If you get married and end up dealing with military healthcare, you'll want to ask lots of questions about what's covered, such as where and how you could get Rxs, etc. Don't make any assumptions about anything! Military healthcare is notorious for sticking to the Lyme orthodoxy. However, TriCare has been known to pay for long term care (including moi). The great part about TriCare is that all pharmacy issued prescriptions are covered with a low copay regardless of what (authorized) doctor wrote it. Of course if you have any other insurance, it must be the primary.
Sounds like a big decision! Very exciting!
It's in Augsburg. YouveGot may have some data, and since she's in Italy, you might want to PM her to get the scoop on how to get a consult. I think she may have some data on that.
I just did a google search for
--- lyme disease clinic augsburg germany ---
and got good hits. There are comments linked on some websites that showed up in the search, and the webpage for the clinic is also in the search results.
Ah, just found their site.
w w w [dot ] b-c-a [dot] de/
The final 'de' being the extension for Deutschland (Germany) instead of 'com'.
At the website, on the lower edge of the banner at the top of page are two tiny flags, one the German flag and the other the UK Union Jack. Click on the Union Jack, and the site pops up in English.
I am sure that many people at the Center speak English, since it's taught in most (if not all) German schools.
