fluid - neck/shoulders !! ?

I am starting to feel a 'flare' subsiding today and have noticed I have - mucus/thick fluid? - during my flares the bottom of my neck/top of shoulders seem to swell-up - I have had a 'scan' on these areas which showed nothing!!

Does anyone think it could be that I get 'fluid' around my neck etc. - like when someone has a knee injury and the area becomes swollen??  - or am I being 'stupid'!!!

Must be one of those days, I had to leave work early and feel lousy.  No spasms, but lots of those pains popping up and moving around.  Haven't had that in awhile.

Here's to a fast turn-around!

I have night sweats - more often than not - but they seem worse when I am at my most painful - mostly neck pain.  I thought my latset flare was on it's way out - but earlier today it returned - I am getting stabbing pains all over the place - feels like muscle spasms in my shoulders/back - horrible - it came on so suddenly - it reduced me to tears - thankfully subsided pretty quickly.

I am ringing my LLMD. tommorrow - here we go again!!

I have alway's felt 'fluidy' too - also think inflammation is to blame for almost all of my symptoms.

Gorbs,

When I see my LLMD, I often preface my symptom descriptions with "I couldn't make this stuff up, here's what's happening to me."

I'm not sure I get exactly what you describe.  I do have a lot of inflammation and have experienced visible effusions about my knees, etc.  One of my more recent symptoms, (which I only started to get 10+ months into treatment?  Talk about strange?) is night sweats.  But the sweat doesn't feel like when I am exercising, it's more greasy and slick.  It's kinda gross.  It only happens at night, whether I'm in bed or still up, and it ranges from just enough to notice to drenching, requiring a change in bedding and pajamas.

Separate from this, I also sometimes get a more thick grease coming out of my scalp, ears, and face.  Charming, eh?  Unlike the sweats, this always happens during the day, usually onsetting mid-morning, I think likely in response to my AM abx.

So I can relate to feeling, er, fluid-y.  My inflammation always is worse during flares, and I think it's to blame for a lot of my symptoms.  I try to drink lots of water, but I confess I've been missing my epsom salt baths now that I'm working more...perhaps I should find the time as every little bit can help!
