1st missed period

i am 46, it has been 32 days since my last period (the last one lasted longer than usual about 7 days).  i have been feeling crampy, nausea etc... been anxiously waiting for period to begin with these symptoms.  at this moment i am debating on buying a pregnancy test.  my mother had a hysterectomy at age 32 and her mother died young so i don't have a history to work with.  any comments from others would be helpful....   thanks  dawn

thanks for your response peggy..  actually started period last nite after about 36 days.
what kind of natural supplements should i be looking at??  i think i will make an appt with ob to get a blood test    my biggest problem this week was irritability, and living with two teenagers and a hubby who has been laid off for 2 months is NOT helping hehe
also, i have had this headache over my eye and it actually makes that eye twitch (was going to tell all in the house that if the eye is twitching get out of space!!)
thanks for your help           dawn

there are several things to consider.

1. Could you be pregnant?
2. Have your periods been coming later and later?

If it would make you feel better, get the pregnancy test, but more than likely it is hormonal, giving your age. Are you taking any kind of natural supplements to help with the symptoms of perimenopause?

keep us updated. Hope you get some relief and soon. It becomes consuming, I know. And that makes you so tired.
