37 and no periods for 6 months?

Women in my mother's family start menopause earlier than most women like in their early  40's. I am 37 and not under or over weight, overall healthy and not pregnant but haven't had a period in 6 months. Can this mean I'm already menopausal?

Hi,no  not really. I had once missed my cycle once for a whole 13months? who would of thought it.... I was so scared and thiught the same thing but no other women in my family on either side have any complicatons with TTC. For what ever reason this happened and then I got my cycles back and they were 35 day cycle lengths, then 32. They are now VERY regular and I have a cycle every 28-31 days. I have gotten pregnant 4 times but sadly ended in miscarriages. (due to short cervix) so dont count yourself out. Oh yeah Im 37 also didnt get preggo with baby#1 until I was 33. Hope I helped and all the best with your future endevors

Kee, thank you so much! I had a baby at 25. For a year and a half my body was messed up and I'd have a period about 3 times a year even after i stopped breast feeding. My doctor didn't seem concerned. I got more regular but not completely. My son was 4 before I had a period every month again. My son is 11 now and all of a sudden, I have gone almost 6 months without so I started worrying about it. Next time I see my doc, I'll talk to him about it.  Thanks again.
