Bloating

Am getting severe bloating around stomach/waist i went to my doctors because i could not live with this feeling any longer and he diagnosed IBS, i don't believe this, i think its got something to do with PMT as i have always suffered from bloating around that time of the month, but over the last year i seem to be bloated constantly, i think it is something to do with hormones and my age 47.  Is there anybody out there that suffers bloating as a manopausal sympton that can give me some advice as to how to deal with it, am fed up with being a size 10 one day then size 14 the next!

It could very well be menopausal or even peri-menopause, so many things can go on during this stage in our life.  I have you seen a regular gyn about this?

I too suffer from extreme bloating and have been through tests and nothing is wrong with me.  Went through menopause in my 40's and am now 59 and the bloating started up again!  Tired of being a size 4 one day and an 8 another!

I would go with the guy and see a different doc. Bloating could be a result of IBS true, but if tht does not feel right, you need to investigate further. Hormones or lack of them can cause it as well.
