Taking pills to eliminate periods but continue periods from 15 days?

I am 47 years old having heavy periods. Did ultrasound everything normal just just thick uterus wall.Doctors prescribed me pills to eliminate periods.taking pills from almost month and period started on expected date but it’s still continuous from 15 days. Is it normal? I have appointment with my doctor next month.

Well, trying with hormonal things like either the pill or the depo shot is something some will do to attempt to staiv off this heavy bleeding you describe. I think it doesn't sound like it is working.  my mom took progesterone since her imbalance cause non stop bleeding but she had lighter bleeding.  You kind of describe the peri menopause type bleeding that many have. I did. Brutal. My friend got an iud to help.  Not sure how it does but it did.
