Formication

Since stopping HRT and deciding to go 'cold turkey' at age 55, I am getting used to the hot sweats and feeling anxious at everything - but the itching of my hands - espcially early morning is driving me crazy.  My hands burn and itch with no visible rash and scratching does not relieve it - it just comes back worse !  I understand the symptoms of formication being like ants crawling - but this is like killer bees - and only on my palms and fingers - is this part of the symptoms I should expect ?

By the way, HRT should NOT be stopped "cold turkey"!!!  There should be a "weaning off" of them over a couple of weeks.  It's not any more dangerous to hang on for those couple to 3 weeks or so to wean off of them.  You may want to talk to your doc about going back on them, on a lower dosage and coming off of them more slowly to cut back on this sensation.
