I use essential oils for mine, and it has gotten rid of 95% of my hot flashes.  I use Young Living Oils, and it's the Progressive Pkis bottle.  I use them in the morning and evening.  It has honestly been a life saver!  You can order it on Amazon.

It's the only one I have used...lol..you put 2 dots on each forearm (inside) and run them together.  And one for on your neck around where your carotid artery is.  Morning and night.  I thought there was no way it would work, but it does!!!!

I drink Camomile tea before bed.  Now I sleep through them.  :)  Less clothes and light sheets.  Ditch drinking caffeine, anything processed and too much sugar during the day.  Changes in your diet might help.  It help me.  We just can't do what we were able to do @ 20.  :(

Getting older is a pain!  LOL  I just am not a fa of the flavor of chamomile tea but maybe will look at some of the sleepy time tea. I didn't know if you already get hot if having a hot beverage before bed would affect that.  I plant a fan directly on me even with the overhead ceiling fan blowing.  It's rough to get hot flashes at night, disturbs the sleep!
Actually, I don't make the tea super hot.  I even drink it over ice.  :)  I do this 1-2 hours before bed.  Get some of that sleepy time tea.  Chamomile doesn't taste great, but it does the trick for me.  I definitely don't want to be taking any prescription medications for sleep.  Sometimes I will eat a small piece of cheese (low fat) as snack with my tea.

Yes, they do disturb sleep.  I even sleep in the buff sometimes.  My husband has all the blankets and I have a thin sheet=works for us.  I sleep pretty far from hubby because his body generates heat.  I don't like fans blowing on me because they blow dust particles all over and then I end up with a stuffy nose.  :(

I also do Pilates stretches 2 hours before bed.  Helps release stress and makes me more relaxed.

Aging is a little rough, but you can make it work in your favor.
