How long will hot flushes go on ? periods have stopped.

I haven't had a period for almost two years, last summer I had months of hot flushes.  This stopped more or less completely.  However they've just come back with a vengeance.  I've just come off an anti depressant medication and gone on to another one.  I don't know if the flushing is a side effect of the tablets or is menopause related.  I assumed once the periods had completely stopped, the flushes would too ! It's really debilitating.

Thanks for your advice.  I've tried drinking sage tea daily, and amazingly after only 3 days, I'm getting a lot less flushing and no night sweats at all.

Have you tried the black cohosh or other natural supplements that help with menopausal issues? (Not recommending, just asking)

I can only speak for me . I had a complete hysterectomy in my mid 30's. They refuse to give me hormones (which helps hot flashes), because of cancer history in my fam. I am now 58 and still have hot flashes terribly (even in air conditioning). I have an older sister who is 71 and she still has them badly as well.

They do seem to be really bad, back off for awhile and then come back with a vengence! LOL

You could also be experiencing them from the meds tho too. Double trouble?
