I'm beginning to think no one can help me.

Hello all!

I am beginning to think no one will ever be able to help me. I am 24 years old. When I was 19 years old I had an abortion at 7 weeks, then a miscarriage at 7 weeks in the same year. Other than that, I've never been pregnant or had children. Over the past year my periods have become very irregular. Sometimes there are 12 days between my period, othertimes there are 55 days between them. I have began growing hair on every part of my body other than the palms of my hands and bottoms of my feet. The hair on my legs is black and very "man-like". I literally have hair growing everywhere. It is very embarrassing to discuss. Not to mention I have acne on my face, back, chest, butt and legs. I went to the doctor in April and had a papsmear done as well as blood work - complete blood count and testosterone levels - everything came back perfect until my doc. performed a transvaginal ultrasound and found a cyst on my right ovary the size of an egg. Everytime I eat I start having massive heat flashes, I have mood swings to the point it's ruining my marriage and I lay in bed everynight so agitated at the world that I can't fall asleep. I just don't understand what is wrong with me. I'm on the verge of giving up. She put me on birth control pills to regulate my period and try to shrink the cyst but they aggrevate my migraines so I stopped taking them.

You definintely need another medical opinion. I hope you have a PPO so you can go to another gyne. With a cyst that large, it should probably be removed. Some cysts do secrete hormones, sounds like this one is secreting testesterone.  It may be PCOS like the above poster stated, however usually you have small multiple cysts. A cyst the size of an egg sounds painful.

Also, there are different kinds of bc pills you can try with a lower hormonal dosage. Please get a second medical opinion.

Hi there...sorry to hear of all your troubles...sounds like you have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome....a hormonal imbalance.  Research PCOS on the net....you have many of the symptoms such as increased hair growth, acne, irregular periods..etc...

Good Luck...and recommend a good Endo Dr.  (hormone/gland Dr.)
