Is this it?

I had emergency surgery Oct 31 and Nov 1, and was menstruating at the time of both surgeries.  I have not had my menses since this time, but have had symptoms like quick lived heat flashes, dizziness where I actually lose my balance momentarily and am VERY tired.  I have had CT scans done to rule out other abdominal problems, went to my ear, nose, and throat specialist and he reccommened balance therapy, but I am certain that would not help.  I don't know if this is all due to trauma to my body, and is healing slowly, or since I am 51 is this teh start of menopause?  My mother never was dizzy during her change, so I am concerned.  Has anyone else had similar problems and do they subside or will I have to go through life looking like I am enebriated when walking?

Thanks in advance for any help or reccomendations.

Dizziness...or more commonly referred to as "vertigo" can be caused by many things.  More often than not, it's caused by an inner or middle ear imbalance/infection.  This can be bacterial or viral or even allergy created.  It can also be a perimenopausal symptom but, more commonly, it's ear related or perhaps even stress related.  There is also a dizziness that comes from a spinal misalignment.  Oftentimes it's neck or shoulder area related and a good chiropractic adjustment can help tremendously.  Since you've already seen an ENT (ears, nose and throat specialist) and they can offer no real explanation, it can't hurt to see a chiropractor and see if something is out of balance.  I had this happen with severe dizzy spells and no doctor could figure it out.  After some chiropractic treatments, all is well! :)

I had part of my lower intestine removed.  I was really dehydrated from the flu and I guess the lower intestine wasn't getting enough blood or oxygen.  Once in the abdomen they also discovered my pancreas was leaking.  I had a transplant 9 years ago so teh following day they fixed that.

What kind of surgery?  I have similar symptoms with a drop in estrogen, I think, no one has been able to determine it.  I went off birth control and three days later had similar symptoms to yours.  It took about three months to get better.  I just had surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago and I am now in complete surgery induced menopause.  I have some of the same symptoms.  Short hot flashes, dizziness and tired.  I also have body aches and leg pain.  I am on HRT,but my body is probably still adjusting and it could have thrown my thryoid off again.  The two can work against each other.  Do you have a thryoid problem?  A change in estrogen can throw that on a rollercoaster too.
