I am sorry to hear we are in similar circumstances. NO FUN at all!
I too am hypothyroid, had GB removed, am on beta blocker ( atenolol). What has helped me but only after several months of taking is the natural- bioidentical progesterone. I did not sleep for months til Dr tested hormones and added progesterone.
Then the next year I was taken off due to a high DHEA level for several months. It was the worst months of my life- take 2!!!!! Did not sleep at all til restarting progesterone and being on for a month or so.
I have not had it upset my stomach in any way. There are many different ways to take it- sublingual, oral and cream ( I take orally). Perhaps trying a different way ??
I also take a 5htp, 100 mg. l- theanine at night to help me sleep. It works most of the time, but there always seems to be a "bad week" where I can not sleep at all- varies from month to month. I am sure it is hormonal, but can not figure out the why or when.
Phosphatylserine is great if your mind races at night, helps slow down that cortisol and racing mind/ body feeling. Melatonin also helps some people- however not me.

Hey..just read your post and I have almost exact same problems. I'm almost 39 yrs old but had partial hysterectomy when I was 22...still have my ovaries. For a year and half, I have been so sick. I've been diagnosed with perimenopause, had my gallbladder removed, hypothyroid (had Hashimoto's dz, but now just hypo), horrible insomnia and sinus tachycardia. Have you received any successful treatment? I take Armour Thyroid and my TSH is normal now. I take Inderal for heart. I don't take anything for perimenopause and NOTHING works for insomnia. My estrogen levels are normal but I've taken natural progesterone in the past but it causes stomach problems and only helped very little for insomnia. Any feedback would be appreciated! Hi! Have you had complete physical including checking thyroid, hormones, ect??
I am in perimenopause, thyroid problems and crazy emotions which I never had before. Biodenctical hormones and thyroid meds have helped some. Also as the post above mentioned stay away from caffine, sugar, try to eat as natural as possible. And exercise helps greatly reduce anxiety too along with adequate sleep/rest.

I had similar feelings and thought I was starting perimenopause but now think it was a combo of stress and topamax withdrawal-but I totally get how you feel. I literally thought I was going insane! I agree with lady-exercise helps and gets your mind off of things-I like yoga but you'll find whatever you like. I hope you feel better and you're not alone!!
Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well.
I had terrible emotional swings a few years ago, I think what happened was my homrones were way out of balance with the start of perimenopause. The best way I can describe it is I felt like I was a teenager again, and not in a good way.
Are you able to exercise right now? Regular physical activity, having a massage every 3 to 4 weeks, and cutting down on sugar/sweets and caffeine really helped me.
