Hi there,
Are you already in menopause? I am actually menopausal and in my
middle to late fifties. I've been menopausal for two years already.
I know there are symptoms with menopause. Luckily, I've only experienced
a few of them. I do have what they call hot flashes, but not very often.
Even the hot flashes are tolerable, not always pleasant , but tolerable.
You don't have to be anxious about menopause. Every woman becomes
menopausal eventually. I think sometimes you fear what you haven't
experienced yet. Most of my women friends are menopausal. When
we get together for lunch or something, you know how we cope with
menopause. We share our menopause stories and then laugh about it.
There's a really good book called " The Menopause Self Help Book"
written by Dr. Susan M. Lark copyright 1990. It was printed by Celestial
Arts in Berkeley, California. The ISBN number is 0-89087-592-8.
As someone who is menopausal, let me tell you there's nothing to fear.
Try and get yourself this book. It's a wonderful resource. She actually
says " A Woman's Guide to Feeling Wonderful for the Second Half
of Her Life". There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Be well. Eve
I've not had those symptoms, but in general, my doctor's approach is to treat symptoms if they are bothersome enough to warrant doing so. Menopause is a collection of symptoms. Treating the symptoms won't "cure" menopause, but it could sure help. Have you treated your anxiety either through therapy, medicine, meditation, exercise? I hope you get relief!
