Zoloft and Nausea

I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since.  It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks.  Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg.  It doesn't seem to help.    Will the nausea go away?

Well, I think I'm finally off the nausea kick!  It took almost 3 months, but I've felt ok for the last two days.  I'm glad because I don't remember the last time I've felt so light, happy and bubbly!  I don't want to go off the Zolft!

Thank you for your help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI,
Zoloft (sertraline) is used to treat depression, panic disorders and anxiety. Nausea is one the side effects of the drug. If Ondansetron is not helping there are other drugs like antacids and proton pump inhibitors that can give relief. You can ask your Doctor for a change of prescription. Also dietary modification like eating a bland non-spicy food, avoiding alcohol and smoking will help.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
