lightheadedness or dizziness

Since April last year, I've been experiencing a lot of lightheadedness, dizziness, feeling tired and drained quite a lot, whenever I get the lightheadedness, I start sweating and feel tired.  I am also seeing changes in my menstrual flow, sometimes 3 to 4 days and sometimes normal 5 to 6 days heavy on the second day.  I've done MRI, ECG,Echocardiogram, holter, the MRI showed a small anyurism and i was told that its not the cause, Echo showed trivial regurgitation and was told that is not the cause, atrial fibrallation and supraventricular ectopy showed on the holter and again i was told that none of these are the causes.  Can this be symptoms of pre-menopause.  I am 47 years old.

I also have the dizziness at my time of the month along with hyperactivity. I had a bad accident and was told that the crystals in my inner ear were dislodged but it happens the day do my period so I don't think it is. Let me know if you found out. I heard it could be migraine, iron deficiency.......it's awful!

I had that too still do along with a lot of women that I know. I think fluid in the inner ear has caused that. Retaining water alllergies etc. Just think our bones change when were age and that tube in your inner ear is is like a soft bone and so delicate. There are crystals that float around and effect our balance etc. They can be alittle off. Check out inner ear on the web, good luck.

Hi - I too have suffered a lot from the lightheadedness for the past few years.  I have tried several things to alleviate this and right now am completely avoiding sugars in my diet as well as anything that your body quickly converts to sugar (breads, etc).  Worth a try!

Have you had your thyroid checked?  Have you had your iron level, including ferritin and T.I.B.C., not just your CBC checked?  If not, I would pursue these tests with your doctor.  I don't think light headedness is a typical symptom of menopause.  Have you had orthostatic blood pressures and pulses taken (lying down and standing up)?
