menopause

I have been bleeding for over 3 weeks, extremely heavy with clots, and very bad cramps. I am 47 years old I realize it is menopause, but when should I be concerned?

Hello Dear,
At this age many women face the same issue. Yes it may be the signal that you may start your menopause. Take healthy diet food and add lots of vitamins to it. Do regular exercise. This all will help you to delay the menopause.

I would be concerned at the point when I'm wondering if everything is ok.  So for you, if you have a gnawing feeling that maybe this isn't quite typical, you should see your doc.  Some symptoms of thyroid disorders are similar to perimenopausal symptoms, so testing would rule out thyroid disease.  Also, if your bleeding is continual for a prolonged period, you could become anemic.
