perimenopause symptoms

I am having several symptoms of perimenopause, from the short, intense painful periods, night sweats (for a week to 10 days prior to my period), radical mood swings, and bouts with anxiety, etc.  The worst sypmptom lately is some vaginal irritation, but I can't find what is typical and what is something to be concerned about.  What are the types of vaginal irritation that are typical with perimenopause?  Lumps? Bumps? Blisters? Dry patches?  All I can seem to find online are general references to 'vaginal irritation'. Could you please define "vaginal irritation' for me?

Vaginal dryness is common in menopause. I am currently using Estrace cream to combat that particular beast. First I got a yeast infection was treated for that went back in because symptoms came back. No yeast just vaginal atrophy. Great name - yuck! The cream is helping! I would get checked for yeast as that is common as well. If it's not perhaps your Doc. can give you some advice.

Good luck,

Teresa
