16 year old with low testosterone ?

I was going threw puberty like any other teen my voice was cracking i was growing hair everywhere up until a few months ago i started to feel different. I started to feel less confident, shy, fatigued, foggy head, and a much lower sex drive.I have weak erections and a much lower sperm count. Around the same time my brother started to feel the same (he's 21) and he went in and got checked out and it turns out he had low testosterone. And he now takes T shots and feels better now.
So i decided to get some blood work done too and my testosterone was lower than his. I forget what it was it was either 261 or 361 but my Dr. said i was fine (BUT she told my brother he was fine too its not till he seen someone else that he was told he had low testosterone) and now i don't know what to do ive asked my brother to ask his Dr. how old you have to be to get on T shots but he hasn't. I would think that since he went threw the same thing as me he would help me but i guess not.
Around the same time i started to feel like this some of the tiles broke in my shower so the inside of the wall is showing. And i thought that maybe there was mold in there and that it was causing my low T but i went and got more blood work done too see if i had any fungus or mold inside of me and it came back clean.
So now i don't know what could be causing this and im tired of trying to find out what it is can someone please tell me the age limit for T shots. I just want to go back to how it was before i want to feel like myself again. I can feel its getting worse to up until a week ago i couldn't talk in a really high voice however now i can and i feel a difference in my mood to i feel like i have anxiety all of the time and its getting worse and ever since this started i haven't had any other hair growth such as leg hair

Hello,
T replacement probably is not the right choice  either for your age or your brother's, because, once you start the cycle, it will be difficult to unwind yourselves and in the long run it would affect fertility, since due to negative feed back, your brain will tend to shut off the production of both FSH and LH, thus affecting sperm production. What you should try to find out is what is causing the various symptoms in you. You should consult a good endocrinologist and get your complete hormone levels assessed and determine which part of your body is causing the problem and correct it.

Your statement that you are underweight might point to a hyper active thyroid or some  problems related to protein and zinc absorption. If you are a pure vegetarian or you happened to switch your food from home made food to a hostel food or if you feed mostly on junk food, or if you do not exercise regularly, have a stressful life due to your studies etc. all these can affect your health. In such cases, all that you need to do is to ensure you get your daily quota of macro nutrients, do moderate exercise and finally learn to relax and enjoy your work.

So, if your doctor, after careful considerations, does not recommend T replacement, do not go for that, else, you may have to regret your decision later in your life.

Good luck,
Solace

Good luck with your appointment.  Right now I am on the path of finding alternative ways to try to keep his testosterone from going any lower.  Alternative therapies are much better and safer than medicine.

The fact that you can at least talk to your dad should help.  Don't keep it to yourself because you will just drive yourself crazy.

Wish you the best of luck.

Exactly.  You may not be asked for your symptoms given the fact that you have proof that your blood tests are showing that your testosterone is low.  By tackling the problem early you might avoid any serious consequences in the future.  Believe me I know.  I just found out my husband is infertile and I just keep wondering whether this problem could have been tackled earlier during his teen years.  We still don't know the exact cause.  But one of his symptoms is low testosterone.  It's not the reason for his infertility of course but low testosterone could lead to erectile dysfunction in future.  So it's important to keep that under control.

I know your right but I'm worried because I go to the Dr. With my dad and I know the dr's going to ask me to tell him my symptoms and I don't want to say infront of my dad but oh well what's a few minutes of embarrassment to a lifetime of sadness right ?

You should seek help from a medical profession.  If the present doctor has taken tests and is telling you that everything is fine even though the results show otherwise, then you should go for a second opinion to another doctor.  Treating low testosterone levels at this age is crucial.  There are many conditions associated with low testosterone levels so it is important to tackle the problem now.

The following link may be useful.  There are some tips which could actually help you increase testosterone levels naturally.  As you can see there are different therapies used in the treatment of low testosterone levels and age makes a difference to determine which is the best treatment for you.  So what is working out for your brother may not essentially work out for you which is why you should talk to another doctor.  Here is the link:

The odd thing here is why did you and your brother both get low Ts, yhere must be something you have between you to get low Ts, you must ahve some kind of bug in your systems for thsi to have happened, the main problem is your age at 16 you are really to young for drugs me thinks.
But I think you and your brother should both be checked out again.
Good Luck

The physical things, growing hair, voice change, etc., may have nothing to do with your T- Levels. As many men have little body hair, or may not have a deep voice.

A better indicator of low T Levels, are thinking ability, sexual desire, weak/strong erections, energy level. Don't take any of these as conclusive. Your blood needs to be checked. If you are not getting the results from the doctor you feel are accurate, go see another doctor.

T-Levels can be different throughout the day, so that might need to be checked too.
