Help! Tinea

Hello, I have been diagnosed with jock itch at the top of my leg. I am currently treating the rash with Clotmirazone and another prescription anti-fungal cream with seriods in and have been treating it for 5 days now.

I am about to go on vacation and I wanted to know if it was ok if i can go swimming with it. It is being treated and it will be covered up. Is this ok?

Many Thanks

I wouldn't use the steroid for more than 1 week on the genital area. If used longer it can cause skin atrophy, redness, and a burning sensation that doesn't go away. I was prescribed the same thing for many weeks for the same thing and I now regret it badly. Most doctors won't tell you this but if you read the label it says that you should only use it for 1-2 weeks and use sparingly.

Hi there!
Tinea cruris is a skin infection usually seen in areas like the skin of genitals, inner thighs, buttocks etc.The infection usually spreads by sharing towels, swimming pools and gyms. Since you have been treating it since 5 days it must be in healing phase but it is best to avoid swimming till it is completely healed. Do consult a local health care provider and get it examined. Hope you find this information useful. Take care and regards!
