Bumps on penis shaft

As long as I can Remember I have had what hard white deposit under the skin on the shaft of my penis.  It does no hurt and has had no real effect on any activity or ability.  It really just bothers me because I do not know what it is. I have been married and with the same partner for 4 yrs and like I said I remember it being there since before sexual activity anyway so I know it is not an STD. Any suggestions as to what it may be and any non-surgical way to getrid of it?

There are probably 3 spots only, they vary in size from about a 16th on an inch up to the largest one at approx 1/4 inch.  I can pinch the skin around and under them so they are conected to the skin not the cartilage.  They are fariley hard and feel almost lik the top of your ear, for lack of a better comparison.
