Surface Burn around foreskin now turned into sores after having sex

I'm a circumcised man and have been dating the same girl for almost a year now and we are completely faithful of each other. Just recently we've had sex and when I was starting the penetration I put my penis in dry and didn't ease it in. After having sex I noticed around my foreskin, towards the base of the head of the penis when the foreskin is retracted, had an irritation around it. It was almost like a surface burn because I didn't ease it in and it was not properly lubricated. I didn't shower till two days later and didn't wash the area or clean it properly. Now the surface burn has turn into what looks like sores and it is painful. I've been using neosporin on it to help heal it but I'm getting concerned on what it could be. The only time it came up was right after having sex with my partner of about a year. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you
