I'm having flat bumps on my penis, proobably Lichen Planus, for years.

Hi. I am a 25 year old male. 5 years ago a had a thing like a rash on my penis glance. A kind of bump that has a pink color. It started with a very small size then gradually grew bigger. Sometimes it had white skin flakes on it. It was not itchy but had irritation.
My dermatologist diagnosed it is Lichen Planus and prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment 0.1%. I used it for about a week and the problem gone, however, it comes back once a while exactly on the previous spot or other places of my penis glance. My doctor told me to use the ointment again when it started again. I like to notice that the color of some areas that had these problems recursively has changed to a kind of purple.
I've read online that Lichen Planus usually stop in 2 years and I want to know why my condition hasn't gone yet. Is there any chance that I'm having some other problem?
I need to notice that I've never had sex and masturbation is the only sexual activity I'm having.

I'm glad you have seen a doctor about it and they are helping you.  I would take their word for it and that you only worry if they say to.  I understand though wondering why it is there if it is supposed to go away before now.  I hope that it being there isn't what has stopped you from having sex.  Don't let it.  That it was pink and now purple, purple is the more common color for lichen planus. So, that isn't actually too concerning.

I think when you have it and for such a long time, it might be a good idea to get a general physical to see if there is an underlying trigger.  Personally I have never read that it has a time line of 2 years.  Ask your doctor about that.  Other things to consider are if you have been exposed to Hep C, if you get the flu shot, if you use nsaids like ibuprofen, if you react to certain things.

I'm sure it is frustrating.  When was your last physical?

Thanks a lot for your kind reply.
Today I searched the Internet again and I concluded that this problem can be persistent to some people and that article had only claimed that " Lichen Planus usually goes away in 2 years".
So I guess I just have to admit living with this condition...
About not having sex, don't blame me. This condition sometimes can cause problems in the person's sex life. My pines gets truly irritable when I'm having these bumps on it. This even makes touching myself painful and I can't last long to ejaculation.
I'm also curious about the underlying problems. Unfortunately, most doctors in my country don't pay enough attention to their patients and don't dedicate enough time for examining them. Anyway, I've never had a flu shot, never taken ibuprofen (I take acetaminophen or aspirin when needed), and I try to avoid chemicals as much as I can, for instance I use baby soup, white cotton underwear, etc. I'll check for hepatitis c next time having a blood test although I think it probably isn't that likely for me to have it.
