What is an adequate dose of Vitamin D3 for those who are deficient?

I went for a Vit. D test and got only 47 nmol/L values.

As I am deficient, doctors recommended me 1000 IU tab/day for 2 months. I searching on internet and found many articles about Vit. D dosage. Most of them recommend 1000IU / 25 pounds or 50,000IU/week for 6 weeks and then 1000-2000IU for another 2 weeks.

Is this correct? To whom should I follow?

And an other, yes the vote is in for getting out in the sun, just as much as you can, then for I now live in Greece and we get sun most days and in the I'm a natuist, so just love being out there doing anything just naked, makes you fill great.

Depending on where you live 15 minutes in the sun should give you your daily
amount.

Hi,
One should always go by what the doctor recommends, he may recommend higher doses if required later. Vit D being a fat soluble vitamin, overdoing can be dangerous.
