Post Circumcision Swelling

I had a circumcision last Monday. All appeared well but during sleep I've woken with pain from erections, last night was the worst, several times. After bathing today I've noticed an area where the suture is loose, the skin is puffed out somewhat and that area hurts. Also the shaft just beneath the penis head appears more swollen now than before, toward the base it appears normal, the swollen area is rigid to the touch, although not painful. I am going to call the Dr. tomorrow (not sure if the office has Saturday hours), but my concern is whether this is an emergency type problem. Monday is a holiday, and if I do have a major problem waiting until Tuesday would make things worse. If anyone can help, or has ideas how to reduce sleeptime erections, (I've tried sleeping on my side in the fetal position), I would be most appreciative. I will never take this organ for granted again. Thanks.

Hey evryone
I'm 23 and almost two weeks into recovery the pain subsided after the first 8 days and simply became slightly uncomfortable except the night time horrors that ye also seam to experience. My stiches also seam to be coming out at an uneven speed faster on the top. Can't wait till it's all over. I strongly recomend bathing it with salt water 2 days after the procedure and several times a day oging forward till helped to get rid of the swelling and redness i was experiecning. If like me u don't have a bath don't worry I simply bought a bowl that will be discarded after this treatment adn added two pinches of salt.Hopes this comes in handy

I had my circumcision 4 days ago and I think I'll be happy with the results further down the road, but for right now I'm in nothing but pain.  If I could just walk around naked all day everything would be fine.  I'm not sure if I just had an idiot surgeon or what, but the sutures look like barbed wire and feel like metal and they poke out and get caught on any amount of clothing, which really pulls at the wound.  Has anybody else had this?  Why couldn't they use sutures that were more like thread, not stainless steel???  Once again, I had almost no pain until I removed the bandage, which exposed the sutures

hey guys, Im 24 yrs, and i was circumcised a week ago. The wound seems to be healing,  i was told that i should apply a thin layer of Neomycin topical which is an antibiotic placed directly on the wound 2 times daily, plus it acts like vaseline. The thing is that it stills swelling below the cut and it looks horrible but it doesnt hurt. I decided to see my doctor, and he said that there is nothing wrong with it, it will heal and the swelling it´s normal, but applying ice like twice a day will make it go down faster.
I did as my doc said yesterday and today i seems better. I gonna do this for around 4 more days and see the results.

And try to stay at home for the first 5 days, the sensivity and the spikes of the sutures are the things could make you feel a lot of pain and discomfort, so its better not to walk.

What a lot of horror stories here! I could never understand why men would accept to get circumcised. The foreskin has some important function to serve. Why not leave it do its work and instead suffer all this and alter on top of that the basic characteristics of the glans, if there is not a serious medical condition?

i to was circumcised on jan 30th,i was put to sleep like u and had no pain. now almost 4 1/2 weeks after surgery it has almost fully healed, except for a small area under the front of the head, the stiches came out early due to an erection! i had a district nurse examine it and she said that it would heal on its own! i hav bin applying a thin layer of vasaline on 2 the wound every night, and it seems to be helping?it might not look like it helps but it done the job for me!

I just got circumcised on jan 30th and it went really well, I was put to sleep during it and had no pain. Even when i got an erection it never hurt it felt tight but never bad pain everyone is talking about.. The only thing is few days ago the dissolable stiches fell out and one side near the back wasnt fully healed and opened up a bit.. got kinda scared cuz there was a 1/2 inch hole where the stiches where holding together but i went to the doctor and he told me everything would be alrgiht.... BUT, if anyone has any other advice on what i should do about the hole that reopened i would LOVE to hear what they have to say... im still not convinced it will be fine.. it wasnt the same doctor that did the surgery... thanks
