strange head aches

im 19yr old male and iv been getting these weird head aches the last 2 weeks im not the type to get much head aches my mother does have migraine allot but im not the usual case so what i feel is like presure on both sides of my head some times i can b normal and just have a passing pain liek sharp stabbing pain on the bac front ina ny side and it gos away llike in five seconds or so my eye vision is not affected and i walk all right like my balance is good and strenth is ok and all that has changed is me typing on the computer immissing allot of letters now and then something that is not normal in me well im just hoping its nothinglike a brain tumor so can you help me with this??

Hey, this headache has gone on too long.  You need to go to the ER, take someone with you to drive home.  Injections won't hurt your stomach and you need to break this certain headache.

yes i know so thats a no no to the painkillers messes up my stomach reall bad

Is Indomethicin OTC in the US?  Steven, with your gastrointestinal problems I don't know if your allowed to take this or not.  Get cleared by your GI doc before trying.  Take Care.

Hi,

The headache is most probably a tension headache. Are you taking OTC pain killers for it?
Try to eat regularly, maintain hydration, do not stay awake past your bedtime and make sure you get sufficient physical exercise during the day. If you do not feel better please consult a physician as you may need to undergo certaing investigations. Good luck!

thank you for your opinion doctor but as i sad the ice pick feeling is only sometimes the head ache can last a wholelikeit can last just 1 hour soem times its every dday it only goes away when im sleeping and when i wake up i feel fine but towards the afternoon i feel it coming on but i think its stress but im really getting worried today i felt as if my neck was being pulled back or streched felt very scared

Hi,
Ice pick headches are sudden short lasting (30sec) bursts of headache that disappear even before the patient realises their onset. You need to get an ENT evaluation done for any blocked sinuses or sinusitis that could be the cause of the chronic headaches that you have. Also you need to visit the ophthalmologist to rule out any visual disturbances that could cause the headaches. OTC painkillers like indomethacin usually help in most cases. You should also try to avoid smoking/ alcohol/ strong light/ loud music and other stress precipitating factors.
