Just been diagnosed with migraines...

I have had a abnormal MRI scan of the brain which look questionably like MS.   Further findings it turns out to be Migraines and I've been having them for a while especially when I'm under stress.  Or when I get anxious or post trauma.  I get faint and my blood pressure drops and get nauseas and throw up.  So he put me on topamax 25mgs for five days and then told me to up to 50 mgs.  The first two weeks were hard because my head felt like it was in a cloud.  And I felt dizzy for the first week.  I couldn't drive or anything.  I have also had abdominal pain associated with these migraines.  So I don't know what that could be.  I've had my eyes checked... Looks like I got something wrong with how I see light in my peripherial vision on my right eye.  And now I got glasses.  Progressives.  So I just wanted to share my experiences and see if others experience the same.  Sorry for the  misspellings.

How are you? I agree with J ibs that there are some side effects that you can experience with Topamax and with any other medication. But it will get better as you get used to it. If not, you may need to have this changed. With regards to progressive lenses, some patients also have difficulty adjusting to this kind of lens. Continue to update your doctors any new symptoms so that they will be able to help.. Take care and do keep us posted.

I was visiting here and saw your post...I ws put on Topomax for migraines...I also had an MRI which was abnormal and have been having other symptoms..I was on Topomax for 3 years..My doc is now weening me off it to to do further testing and see what I am like on no meds. I rarely get migraines anymore....The Topomax will make you feel that way until it is in your system and you are use to it....Be sure to read the pharmacy information on it though for side effects in case it does not agree with you...
