Dear MedHelp I am a 25 years old man and I have been suffering from an unusual single sided tension like headache for about six months. I feel a mild but chronic tension on the left side of my head at the temporal region. It never goes away, and it is accompanied with some strange symptoms like: strange tingling in my left foot, probems with starting urination, pressure in my gums especially in upper left (i haven't got tooth problems), some emotional symptoms. Since the start of that headache I am almost unable to feel pleasure (anhedonia) and I am emotionally numb (this condition is almost unbearable). I have also got myopathy since the age of 10. Hystological evaluation strongly suggests that it is Becker's dystrophy (no staining of dystrophyn D3). CT was negative, blood test did not show significant abnormalities except for the high Creatine Kinase level (20000 u/l) which is related to myopathy. Medication: Cypralex, Myoquinone (for two months but they didn't have any effect yet). My question is: What is the cause of the headache and the mood changes, can it be related to muscle dystrophy? Can it be treated?
