PLEASE HELP!

Approximately three years ago I began to experience very strange symptoms. I have never been sick even with what I am about to describe I don't feel physically ill. Every morning I wake up with a pressure in my head. Sometimes it can be in the back of my neck and travel up to the top of my head. Other times it is on either side of my head. There is also the pressure behind my eyes. It causes me to feel tired, unsure about driving, sometimes dizzy and as if I am not in complete control. I cannot read a book anymore or look close at things without becoming dizzy. It is as if my head is constantly clouded. I have had two MRI's and a Cat scan plus a chest x-ray. All OK. I get a physical every year and all blood work had been fine. I have high blood pressure but take medication. I am very scared. Although I don't believe I am dying I don't know how to fight this thing. I have never felt this way in my whole life and noone can tell me what is wrong. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!!

Hi,

Please try OTC analgesics and see if they work. Also are able to get a good night's sleep? Lack of sleep can sometimes cause these kind of symptoms.

Bearbernie-I know it feels scary.  And God made it feel scary for a reason.  Something is wrong.  Go to a board certified neurologists, you may have one.  Push for an MRA of your head.  It is a scan of the blood flow in your head.
Also, did the problem coincide or even start ANYTIME after taking the BP med.  If so, you might want to try a diferent one.  The odds of this level of Migraines without ever have it before would be rare.  Are you near peri/or menopause?

If all else is checked out than you might want to ask the doctor about something like Inderal.  If you have high blood pressure make sure to tell your doc what you take for it.  Inderal might interact.  Antidepressents are a good choice (not a doctor, just my opinion) if you are anxious or stressed with Migraine.  Don't start with SSRI's as first line treatment.  They can help or hurt.  And if they hurt, some are really hard to come down off of.  Good Luck.
