How long has she been suffering from the headaches. If you say, the last few months then a general trip to the physician is warranted. If the physician says she checks out ok and wants to try her on a general headache preventative - not good enough. She needs to be seen by a board certified pediatric neurologist. Now, if you say 4 or 5 days then call the doctors office immediately and tell them she needs to be seen right away. And if the doctor says we can see her a week from this thursday, tell them not good enough. See if one of the partners is available or take her to the urgent care center in your area. Just make sure they are affiliated with one of the major hospitals in your area.
The big questions are:
Is she running a fever (most important) in my opinion
Is she lethargic most of the time, if shes jumping around - good sign
Can she touch her chin to her chest
Does she have numbness or tingling anywhere
Does Childrens Advil or Tylenol relieve the headache
Remember you have to take her temp while she is not on meds (I know you prob. know this)
Then on the flip side
Do you have a history of migraine in your family or the father's family
Has she moved to a new school or some life stessor lately
Is there any bullying problem at school you may not know about
Is she generally happy
Have her grades dropped BEFORE the headache started etc...
Do you see her squinting
You get the idea. Take Care
Hi,
Does she have any other symptoms apart from headache? In her case i think ear problems and sinus has to be ruled out. Does she suffer from allergies because seasonal allergies can cause headache. Please schedule an appointment with a physician.Good luck!
