Hi-- just wanted to chime in.  Destiny_Hope, I'm so sorry about your losses.  I know it's just awful when you get on such a high from the BFP and then tumble to such a low when you realize it's not going to work out.

If it helps, my RE has me on baby aspirin 1x/day leading up to my FET on Monday.  I think I'll continue on it too, at least through the 1st trimester although she hasn't said for sure.  For this cycle she also has me on 1/2 tablet of metformin... here's the long version: apparently, your body prioritizes metabolic hormones & activities over reproductive ones.  The metformin is usually used to control insulin levels, but mine are fine... she's using it to make sure they stay fine before, during, and after meals so my body can focus all its energy on reproductive hormones without being distracted by the metabolic ones.  She also said it helps with the lining.  This was very new information to me-- I don't know yet if it works, but I'll keep you posted.  And, of course, I'm on 200mg progest. suppositories 3x/day.  The 200's are new and my RE said she's having a lot of good success with them.  My RE is also a big fan of acupuncture.  I'm working with an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility... you can find them by clicking the "local practitioners" link on Randine Lewis's website.

Hope that helps a bit so when you're physically and emotionally ready to try again you'll have some new questions for your RE.

Yeah,  you want to make sure your doctor says it is o.k. for you to take baby aspirin.  Some people might not be able to take it due to specific medical conditions.  If he gives you the all clear and suggests it then you are good to go.

He will also explain how long to take it and when to take it.

Every situation may be a little different.

I can tell you what my doctor told me.  But I am a different person than you.  So please remember to check with your doctor first.

My doc told me to take one baby aspirin a day, every day, starting before we conceived and he told me to continue it.  I still have not gotten past the first trimester without a miscarriage so I do not know if he wants me to continue throughout entire pregnancy or just the first trimester.  Unfortunately we haven't gotten to that bridge yet.

I hope this helps.

Just a quick phone call to your doctors office may be able to answer this.  Your doctor might have to check your chart and call you back, but I wouldn't be surprised if they can answer it the same day.

You should only take baby aspirin for these purposes with the advice and guidance of your doctor.

Discuss the issue with your doctor, who will look at your personal medical history and decide if it is appropriate or not.

Best of luck,

Destiny_Hope,  I am super sorry to hear about your losses.   I am 39 years and am having my third miscarriage right now.  All first trimester.  My RE has also done every test in the book, including the karyotyping and chromosomes on me and hubby and found everything normal.

This last time I was on progesterone suppositories and baby aspirin, more as a precaution rather than definite preventative from the testing.  As I said, the testing didn't tell us anything definite about why I continue to miscarry.

It is my understanding that the baby aspirin can help prevent blood clotting, but my doc wanted me on it to help the uterine lining thicken.  He said there was a chance that the uterine lining was not preparing itself as it should for implantation.

They usually suggest 81mg to 100mg a day.  I do not know of any "draw backs" or side effect to trying baby aspirin.  But you just want to make sure that your doctor doesn't see any complications that you may have because of it.

I too have been told that my problem may be egg quality.  Being 39 I fully understand that my eggs are old.  But I didn't think that that necessarily means that you can't carry.  It is my understanding that it just may take a little longer for the sperm to connect with a quality egg.  I think the sperm connects with the first egg it runs into, instead of continuing to swim around to find the good one.

Good luck to you.  I don't know if this was helpful or not.  Blessings.

hi
sdorry to hear about your loses.
i suffered 2 mc myself.
that's a pretty hard thing to go through when you ttc.
Aspirin is  recommended in france to "clean" your boby after a mc. we used more than parcetamol as a general rule. But it did work for me.
i felt cleanse and less pain after a week of use, on a day with lot of water. I was also expecting to bleed for longer but it was finish in a week  which is quite short according to my GP.
i really recommended.
i'm 2 month PG now, really happy nad I'm sure your next.
age might be an issue, i don't know but you still have to make sure that you giving your body the best chances to strat again in good condition.
i stopped using aspirin few days after the bleeding stopped and waited for my next periods.
i can help for per. pains as well.
I hope it helped.
Good luck Destiny
